BMW – Is This Car Brand A True Luxury Vehicle?

Now that the notion has been dispatched of Mercedes Benz as a luxury vehicle we shouldn’t even have to go into the same argument as far as BMW is concerned. I own a BMW M6 in Ontario and by no means would I consider it in the luxury class. It doesn’t have the weight as far as it’s price is concerned. On top of that, the BMW M6 lacks many refinements that are contained within a Bentley or a Rolls or a Lambo. It’s an exotic car, but it isn’t exclusive. You could trade any one of the previously considered cars for several copies of an M6. Also the M6 cuts corners in different areas. For instance the 2007 BMW M6 doesn’t have a front loading CD changer. Soft close doors are an option you have to buy. Satellite Radio is an option you have to buy. Heated steering wheels, keyless go and a number of other option which are standard on a “true” luxury car are extra options that you have to pay for on a BMW. M6’s don’t have back up cameras on their vehicles.

HONDA CIVIC FOR SALE In Ontario

I’m not trying to pick on BMW (because I own one), nor Mercedes. The truth of the matter though is that they are not in the same league as what a true luxury car is. If they were, there would be just as many Maybachs in Ontario as there are Rolls Royce Phantoms.

Would anyone pay $380,000 for a Phantom if a $450,000 Maybach was better, flashier, and higher quality vehicle? Why not go out and buy a BMW 760 if it is just a luxurious as a Bentley Flying Spur? The answer to both of those questions is obvious. If the cars were as great more people would buy them. But they aren’t. That’s why Benz sells less than 150 Maybachs and SLRs, respectively each year. Cars in the exact same class outsell them by as much as 50-1 because a Benz or a Beamer is not a _________. You fill in the blank.
